// MEDUSA

Payments for
Medusa.

A native payment provider for Medusa v2. One package covers the server plugin and the storefront card step; refunds and cancels run from the Medusa admin.

Saved cards and renewals

// WHAT IT DOES

Built for Medusa, end to end.

  • Card payments, with bank verification

    Shoppers pay by card in your storefront. When their bank asks for extra verification, the card step handles it and brings them back to finish.

  • Apple Pay and Google Pay

    The buttons appear above the card form wherever the shopper’s device supports them, once you register your store’s domain with one command. The tap only holds the money; it is taken once the order exists, and released if the order cannot be made.

  • Refunds and cancels from the admin

    Refund or cancel a payment from the order screen in your Medusa admin, as you would with any provider.

  • Saved cards, when the shopper chooses

    Signed-in customers can tick “Save my card for future orders”. It is never pre-ticked, and guests never see it. A “Saved cards” page in their account lists their cards, and removing one cancels it for good.

  • Subscription renewals

    Your subscription plugin, such as ReorderJS, charges the saved card for each renewal, with no shopper present. Each order is charged at most once. You can take the shopper’s agreement through your own checkout terms instead of a checkbox.

  • One-click offers after checkout

    Right after paying, the shopper can add an item to the same order: one tap for card payers, the wallet button for Apple Pay and Google Pay. Up to three offers per order, for about an hour.

  • Paid checkouts without an order are caught

    A recovery job looks for a checkout that was paid but never became an order, and finishes it. If it cannot, the payment goes on a held list in your admin for you to act on.

  • Payment updates with a signing secret

    Your store registers for payment updates from Von Payments with its own signing secret, so it knows each update came from us.

  • A setup check

    Run the setup check from your project, or press the button for it in the admin, to confirm your keys and settings before your first shopper arrives.

  • Updates you can see

    When a new version is out, your Medusa admin tells you, with the exact install command. The notice comes from a file we sign, and your store sends nothing about itself to check it.

// INSTALLING

Four steps.

You will need a Von Payments account and your API keys.

STEP01

Install the package

One package covers both the server plugin and the storefront card step. Run npm install vonpay-medusa in your Medusa server and in your storefront.

STEP02

Add the card step to your storefront

Run the setup command in your storefront's folder. It adds the card step to your checkout and the page shoppers return to after bank verification, and changes nothing it does not recognise.

STEP03

Add your keys

Put your Von Payments keys in your server's settings, and your publishable key in the storefront's. Test keys let you take a test payment before going live.

STEP04

Keep it up to date

Your admin tells you when an update is out. The setup command can also switch on automatic updates for bug and security fixes; bigger releases always wait for you.
